Affiliation
I've been thinking randomly this evening about a variety of subjects that all seem to have an element in common -- community. I've long had a slightly hostile relationship with the notion, given that most of my early experience with it has been of people imposing either themselves or their approach to relationship -- or both -- on me, against my wishes.
I attended my grandmother's church over Christmas; attending a Methodist service tends to make me think of the years I spent contributing to them. I'm reminded of a desire I let slide over the years -- that of broad social affiliation in a manner fitting my abilities and preferences.
One of my less well-documented resolutions includes an Evil Plan for finding such a niche, but Christmas rather piqued my sense of humor. Anyone know a sex-positive community organization inclusive of young technologists with eclectic religious beliefs -- that needs a bass ringer?
