My arcade got back Police 911 2 (I really like that game title, by the way). They haven't had it for like 2 years, but it was there when I moved back in this semester. I haven't mentioned it all week because... well, because it's largely inconsequential, and I didn't think to. But I find it funny that my high scores from 2 years ago are still standing. I apparently rock at Police 911 2. And/or nobody else gives a shit about it. It's a fun game, but not really one prone to competition. But whatever, we all know who rocks: E O.
The laundry machines in my building use quarters again. Well, I guess they use quarters still; they probably always have. I just haven't lived here before. They laundry machines in my last building used the swipe card, which made things much easier. Quarters have once again become a vakuable commodity, and are still (for some reason) nigh impossible to get your hands on anywhere on campus. I dare you to find a change machine that's not out of order or just plain out of change. Whereas last year quarters weren't worth the paper they were printed on, now they're worth their weight in copper-nickel alloy. I have to once again enact my plan of hoarding quarters in the cycle between laundry days. I don't want to have to go back to the days of buying gum from the vending machine one pack at a time just for the change. That shit is woefully inefficient. "Emad, did you know that if you put a dollar in a vending machine and then hit the change return button, it gives you quarters back?" Yes, I knew that. Did you know that it doesn't work on every change machine? Did you know that some just give you your bill back? Did you know that some of those buttons are broken and you wind up having to buy something? Did you know that some give you nickels? Fucking nickels! I don't want 20 nickels! That's... heavy. The soda machine I used to rely on for quarters no longer gives them out, so until I find a new reliable one I'm stuck in an ongoing search.
Tomorrow through Wednesday > rest of the week.
