Through The Fire: Kit's First Month After Surgery

This week made one month since Kitsune came home after his cancer surgery. The doctors at Southpaws removed his left front leg, including the shoulder, so he looks just a bit different from the passenger's side than he did before. Kit is so brave - once he gets his strength back, and the pain has subsided, he'll become more confident getting used to walking with just one front leg. Are you tempted to baby him? God, I would be but I know that would be detrimental to his recovery.

I admire your devotion to Kit, AJ. I'll keep both of you on my prayer list.

He's a tough mutt. All I've written about so far is his first couple of days - a month ago. There's a lot more to come, as soon as I can write it up.

The difference between Kit being at home and recovering, vs. Kit no longer being with us, is what I saw in him: He's not done yet. I know the look of a pet who just needs his owner to let go, but Kit is far from that point. Minus one cancerous leg, he's enjoying life again.
