I always choose times like this to update my journal--midnight on a night where I need to get enough sleep because I have a six hour day of chemistry ahead of me... and not only do I need to be in bed and sleeping right now, I also need to finish my homework. *frustrated growl*
But at least my hair looks fantastic. Then again, it's been looking magnificent all summer. *cocky smile* I think it's gotten lighter, but I'm not sure, since I see it everyday--I need one of you fuckers to tell me. And I use 'fuckers' in the most endearing sense of the word.
Life being me, for those of you who care to know, is good right now. My parents were not horribly angry about my grades, my siblings and I have a nice balance going and my weight loss goals are slowly being realized. The thorn in my side recently has been... *cue dangerous music*... Chemistry.
Before, I didn't think it possible to finish two very long chapters of a very in-depth textbook in one week [with an exam to boot!] and continue at this rate for 6 weeks... but I believe it now. In 3 weeks, this week being the third, I have had 2 quizzes, 1 exam [one coming up Monday], we've covered 3 chapters [next one starting tomorrow], I've done 2 online homework assignments [2 more due Monday], one extra credit assignment, one in-class lab, one online lab and we have another online lab due Thursday. And I still have to finish reading a chapter in the book. Fuck, no, two! *sigh*
So, yea... that sucks. The wierd part is that in this class more than any other chemistry class I've taken, the subject has actually begun to spark my interest. Just goes to show... stupid big brain. *mumble, mumble*
As for other things, my sister has gotten me addicted to a Candian television show called 'Degrassi' whose plot centers around a bunch of kids who are at least four years younger than me. Should I call myself pathetic? I think so. I have the theme music in my head right now. *smacks head on desk.* We'll just file that under the guilty pleasures.
Dum dee dum.
What else?
Oh, yea! Two absolutely fucking amazing bands coming to town in August: firstly, RADIOHEAD! They have just completely amazed me with 'Hail to the Thief'... I was expecting a Kid B, but this album just blew me away. To any who have not yet bought it--please go and do so now. If you are any of the people I expect to read this, then you WILL LOVE IT. I promise.
The second, more unexpected, band is A Perfect Circle [who, thank GOD, have a second album coming out in September], lead by the great and powerful Maynard James Keenan. Unfortunately, being the total ass-head that I am, I didn't buy tickets when they went on sale [or when they were on presale--go, me] so I had to buy them for double the price on Ebay. But it's damn well worth it, I say! Becuase, as Sarah and Amanda and Jenny know, A Perfect Circle rrrrrock. [I was doubly horrified when I didn't get NIN tickets two years ago when I found out APC was opening... sad day in the life of me.]
But, yea. I'm super-dee-duper excited to see both bands rock their respective houses :) It's like my blood is bubbling. Hee.
But now, I'm off to sleep. When I start forgetting how to spell 'forgetting,' it's time for bed.
I'll finish my homework in the morning.
REALLY!
