History: Mai grew up in Centra, in the city of Aglis. She was brought up in a very controlled environment due to her father being a "important military official". Because of this, her mom taught her to only speak when spoken to, and to always be the perfect, polite little girl her parents wanted. Because of this, she kept her emotions in side of her, and never let them out unless she really needed to. When she turned 8,out of her boredom, she began taping small targets to the walls of her room, then throwing small stiletto blades at the targets. she did this whenever she was bored, which was alot of the time. soon, she got so good at it that she could throw them with her eyes closed and they would hit the center of the target every time. She never told her family about her newfound "power". That is, until she's found out she could firebend at age 10. Then her parents figured it out when she "accidentally" set a portrait of her family and her on fire.
Then they set her away to Estrasia Academy as soon as she was of age.
Personality: Mai is a quiet, controlled girl, and she is usually seen playing with her blades, sighing and looking bored. She is often labled as "Goth". She has been described as dark, moody, gloomy and stoic. She is usually always bored by whatever situation she gets put into. She rarely takes pleasure from anything, and has trouble showing her emotions. She only shows true happiness when she is around people she loves(We won't talk about Zuko here~ He's back home). When she's using her fire, it doesn't take much out of her strength, but if she uses it too much it might start to take a toll on her, for example she might pass out. When under pressure she performs just fine, if not better.
♜ SAMPLES
Third Person Sample: Mai sighed, and lounged in her chair. She would have hoped she'd have a single this year, but she still didn't know. (She wanted a single because as it turned out, people don't want to wake up to the sound of the smoke alarm going off AGAIN because someone forgot that setting the targets on fire isn't that good of an idea. Roommates usually don't like that kind of stuff happening. But hey, 3 o'clock in the morning can distort peoples minds. Mai is no exception.)
She pulled a stiletto out, and began tossing it up and down to work away the boredom. A loud bang came from the room next door. Mai threw the dagger at the wall, then got up.
"Fiiinally.. some excitement." She poked her head out of the room to see the boy who lived next door looking furiously at the ground, where a bunch of confetti lay.
"What the.....wait.. I don't want to know." There had been little easter treats flying about for days now, and Mai would bet that they made weird sounds when "killed". and exploded confetti everywhere. In fact, just yesterday she had been in the training center with Amber (A 5th year girl) when one flies directly into the path of Ambers foot.
And another flies in the path of Mai's hand arrow.
Confetti. Was. EVERYWHERE.
Mai indulged in a rare smile, then went back into her room.
She couldn't wait until the next "event" happened-
they made things much less boring for her.
First Person Sample:
[sighs, then reaches into sleeve and pulls out a small stiletto blade, then begins twirling it around.]
This is so boring. My parents figure out that I have exceptionally good aim with daggers, then this happens. I get sent here.
[She pulls out 2 more blades, and sighs again]
Not to mention I can fire-bend.
...I wonder what would happen if......
[ She sets one of the daggers on fire, and hurls it across the room to a target. It slowly catches on fire and the smoke alarm goes off again. She pales.]
Uuuhoh. not good...
[she quickly gets up, puts the small fire out and yanks the dagger out of the wall. She then turns the smoke alarm off and hurries out of the room.]
