http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4242751.stm I can totally see the point of this, having realised, using dial-up at mym mum's that really I don't actually notice the difference that much because all I tend to do is email and web browsing. Although, I now have an MP3 player and pay to download music, so I guess I would miss that. I remember the early heady days in the late 90s of downloading Mp3s via FTP, dodgy websites, and latterly Napster on a 56k modem and just how long that took. My hard drive was so small that I got a second drive and a swappable docking station thingy and used to unplug the drive, take it away to a friends and get him to burn everything to CDR.
Ah... nostalgia...
