Jaechun || Obvious and Oblivious
Jaejoong barged into the room, furious.
This is so unfair! He thought in defense. Kame was such a show off! He liked to parade how sweet and gorgeous his newly acquired boyfriend was. "Like hell I care!" He huffed in annoyance. Throwing carelessly the scented candles Jin, Kame's boyfriend, brought as a gift for him.
So what if this Jin was completely and madly in love with Kame? So what if people had seen them grocery shopping the other day? Or that Jin was spoiling Kame with breakfast in bed every day?
"Huh. How gross, I feel like puking!"
Nope, he wasn't jealous.
That little tantrum didn't sound like jealousy.
Nope, not at all.
Suddenly, the door across from Yihan and his room opened.
"Jae? Is that you?"
Clearing his throat, he answered. "Yeah, just came back!"
Yoochun was one of Jaejoong's roommates. There were three other guys, aside from him, who were sharing a middle sized flat: Yihan, a junior from Law school, Changmin, a sophomore from the College of Medicine, and Yoochun, a junior majoring in International Business.
"Mom just sent kimchi and some side dishes you like. Have you eaten yet?" Yoochun shouted from behind the door.
That perked him up.
Yoochun's Mom would always send them packages of either food or medicine once or twice a month. She was worried Yoochun would depend on ramen and instant foods because her son didn't know how to cook. And since the dinner with Kame and Jin was ruined with their over display of affection, he was still starving. And homemade dishes meant no take-aways for a few days!
"Okay! I'll be out in a sec!" He said excitedly.
The dinner, even though he had to exert some effort over Yoochun's request, kimchi fried rice...all was great. They were almost finished when Yihan and Changmin came home, good thing the both of them had already had dinner.
It was now a routine that whenever he cooked, Yoochun would wash the dishes. Before, it was Yihan's task but since Law school demanded almost all of his time, he was barely at home these days, same for Changmin. So now Yoochun did almost all the chores for them.

"What is this? Is this yours?"
When he turned around, he saw Yihan holding the candles he had previously thrown away. Refusing to acknowledge its presence, he waved at it like it was nothing, irritation creeping back. Yihan frowned but didn't ask anything else; he then placed the candles on top of his table and grabbed his towel and some clothing out of his closet.
"Before we talk…”
“Why are we talking? There’s nothing --”
“Let me take a shower first. I'll be quick."
And then Yihan was out of the room.
Out of the four of them, he knew Yihan the longest. That’s the reason why he was close to the Law student, but it was a pity that with Yihan’s hectic schedule they barely hang out these days. They used to drink a lot before, have walks to the Han River or go to the noraebang to have fun. Oh, how he wished they could do that again, but Yihan was really busy… Not that he didn’t like to hang out with Changmin and Yoochun but they weren’t as 4D-complementary as Yihan. He knew for sure they wouldn’t understand and wouldn’t be able to keep up with his moods or go along on trips with him.
When Yihan finished showering, he motioned for him to start talking...but how would he begin with his rants without sounding like a jealous child? Yes, he was admitting it now. After thinking it through, his antics did seem very childish to him. But who wouldn't be? He murmured in defeat.
"The candles are from Kame's boyfriend." He started, and Yihan didn't say anything, allowing him to continue. "Kame asked me to dinner and when I came at the place Jin was already there."
“Kame?”
“You met him once.”
“I can’t seem to remember, anyway, continue…”
"They're the exchange students from Japan. Kame's on one of my classes while Jin's from Music and Arts department."
Yihan nodded. "And?" But suddenly held his hand up, "Wait… I think I know why."
He sighed, of course Yihan would realise why.
"Oh, jealousy is a nasty thing, isn’t it?” Yihan said, eyeing him. “But aside from that you're pissed off because this Kame was bragging about his boyfriend while you sat there acting like their PDAing wasn’t affecting you. Aw, poor Jaejooongie. When was your last relationship? 2 years ago? Huh. That explains a lot. You're jealous and frustrated and horny."
Maybe this was the main reason why Yihan picked Law, he was good at describing facts and events in nature.
"Fuck you," was the only thing he could say in return.
Yihan laughed, shaking his head.
Maybe he shouldn't have talked to Yihan, it was just a waste of time. Maybe Changmin would’ve listened to him better...but that guy was as serious as fuck, was he even aware of the existence of human feelings?
Getting up, he headed for the door but Yihan's words stopped him.
"But what exactly are you jealous of? You still being single or the thought of your friend actually getting the guy he'd been crushing over?"
That made him frown. Was Yihan trying to tell him...something?
***
A week had passed since that night but Yihan didn't say anything more after that. He admitted he was jealous because he was still single while Kame was happily in love, but what did Yihan mean with that other thing?
A knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts, "Jaejoong hyung, I'm going out now." Yoochun said as he opened the door, all dressed up.
"Where are you going?" He asked, facing Yoochun. Yoochun and Yihan weren’t of the same age, yet all three of them had more or less the same body structure so they often ended up borrowing each other’s clothes. However, it was Yoochun whom he liked to dress up more. The man had broader shoulders and slimmer legs than Yihan so the clothes always looked better on him.
Yoochun smiled, "I'm meeting up with Joongki hyung."
He tilted his head a bit, "Why?" He knew Joongki, he was the flower boy of the Business school.
"Huh?" Yoochun frowned in confusion.
"Why are you meeting up with him?" He clarified, staring at Yoochun.
"Ahh... Actually it's a sleep-over. We'll be studying for our presentation and thesis defence this weekend." Yoochun kept on smiling like he was excited about getting out of the apartment for 3 days and nights.
Right. With the finals approaching, they all got busy. He’d been spending his time in his room or at Uni trying to finish all of his designs before the examination week started.
“Okay, be safe.” He nodded and dismissed Yoochun with a wave of his hand.

For the next 2 days, he woke up with the feeling that something was missing.
There was no scent of coffee in the morning. The dishes from the previous night were left as they were.
The laundry hadn’t been done either. There wasn't even one sound of whining in the morning.
Yeah, something was definitely wrong there.
***
"Why are you so bitchy?" Yihan asked, annoyed.
"Because Yoochun is not around." Changmin replied instead.
“Can you both shut up and start cleaning?” He retorted, getting the now clean clothes out of the dryer and began hanging them out in the closet.
“We haven’t had our breakfast yet! Aren’t you going to cook something for us, at least?” Yihan asked again.
“Come on, hurry up. You can order take-away later!” He yelled as he put the clothes on the hanger rack.
He heard Yihan groan in frustration, mumbling something to himself and making Changmin laugh, “Yihan ah, your whine won’t affect him. You aren’t Yoochun, anyway.”

Jaejoong had learned something during the past few days, it wasn’t directly pointed out to him but he discovered something about himself. He couldn’t confirm it yet, because somehow he was afraid of what that would entail.
It all started with Yihan and all of their arguments. Next was Changmin with his random comments. And then, last was from Kame himself.
“You can’t see what’s in front of you.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re jealous of me? Of my relationship? But why would you be... when you have had it all this time.”
That left him thinking… What does it mean? What do I have? Am I so dumb I can’t figure it out? He had been asking himself those questions for the past few days, but he wasn’t able to come up with an answer until the day he saw Yoochun back at home. It’d been almost a week since he had last seen the guy, and the moment he saw him comfortably asleep on the sofa... all of his questions had been answered.
It wasn’t as scary as he thought it would be. Instead it was a happy-gooey feeling.
***
He didn’t know how to handle these new feelings. He didn’t even know how to act normal in front of Yoochun after his revelation.
Changmin noticed it first and since then he had this teasing vibe around him, but he didn’t actually say anything. Next was Yihan, there were a couple of times he caught the guy smiling proudly at him or sometimes meeting his gaze whenever Yoochun was around. But once again, it was Kame who made all the fuss…
“You’re an idiot, seriously. Getting jealous when I should have been the one. Honestly, I was.” Kame admitted, staring at him. “I saw how Yoochun treated you, but you were so blinded because of your wish to get even with me. Going out with guys you don’t even like, then disregarding that one person who had been shamelessly doing so much to please you.”
“How can you blame me for this?” He tried defending himself but to no avail, Kame was in his bitch mode.
“How could you be so blind?! Who does the dishes after every meal you prepare? Who volunteers to do your laundry when you’re too busy to get it done? Who goes grocery shopping when the fridge is out of stock? Who waits for you to get home before having dinner? Who laughs at your out of this world jokes? Who the hell do you think he is?” Kame said all at once, running out of breath.
“How did you even know all this stuff? What? Are you my stalker?” He even tried to joke around but Kame was throwing daggers at him instead. He thought of a different approach this time, “How did you hook up with Jin?”
“I kissed him.” Kame said as a matter of fact.
He sighed, “I can’t do that.”
Kame rolled his eyes so hard he thought he’d be the next Emily Rose. “Yes, you can. And I bet Yoochun won’t even punch you in the face like what Jin did.”
“He did?! Fuck, you were crushing over a straight guy!” He said in disbelief. He’d thought Jin was Bi at least.
“Well, it took a while but my charisma won him over. And now he’s mine and he’s been kissing and fucking me ever since.” Kame shrugged like it was something he was extremely proud of.
Jaejoong shook his head, “Yoochun would hate me if I do that. What if all of the stuff he’s done till now was just a friendly gesture?”
“Tsk. Just kiss him and get it done with, and when I said done, get laid. You fucker.”
And just like that Kame was gone.

Fate seemed to like playing with him.
When he got home and wanted to get into the bathroom, he came nose to nose with Yoochun. A rather naked Yoochun.
A skin-barely-covered-by-a-towel kind of naked.
A very arousing kind of naked.
Unconsciously, he leaned in closer mesmerised by Yoochun’s penetrating, yet unreadable stare. Jaejoong had been immediately hit by Yoochun’s earthy, yet heavenly scent, reminding him of trips through the woods, rain and something so intrinsically Yoochun, it could not be distinguished nor described in mortal terms.
I want to taste him, he thought as his eyes traveled down the scantily clad young man’s body. I want to feel his body beneath my fingertips. I want to commit every line to my memory. I want press my lips to his and feast on them. I want to pull his hair and make him feel my passion.
I want him.
And that thought quickly snapped him out of his sexually induced haze.
This was Yoochun, his sweet dongsaeng! How could Jaejoong ever even think about touching Yoochun like that? He had no right. Just because he fell in love with him, it didn’t mean that -
Jaejoong turned around quickly, wanting to spare himself the embarrassment he’d feel if Yoochun found out how corrupted his thoughts were.
Yoochun, however, had other plans. Grabbing Jaejoong by his wrist, he turned the elder around. He’d had enough with the waiting.
“You want to kiss me, what’s stopping you?”
The look in Yoochun’s eyes and the tone of his voice were different from usual. The words had been uttered with such a rawness and roughness to his voice, they dripped with sensuality.
Jaejoong’s pulse quickened and Yoochun, still holding his wrist, felt it. The grin that appeared on his face was veritably wicked.
Leaning a bit closer, Yoochun whispered, “Why, hyung, if I hadn’t known any better I’d think you were a blushing virgin meeting the big bad wolf for the first time.”
“Wait, wait, what?” Jaejoong was at a complete loss.
“Are you always acting this dumb around someone you like?” Yoochun clarified, obviously teasing him.
Jaejoong blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Something wasn’t sitting right with Jaejoong…
“What did you say?”
“What? That you liked me? Do you want me to spell it for you,” Yoochun got even closer, lips almost touching, “hyung?”
Jaejoong’s eyes bulged in surprise. Flustered and flabbergasted, he tried getting his thoughts together. How would Yoochun know… Had Kame just --
“There was this guy who approached me this afternoon and told me a not-so-hidden-secret,” continued Yoochun, eyes sparkling with mischief.
Jaejoong was shaking his head, disbelief written all over his face. And then the much-predicted embarrassment came over. Fuck, what now? Denying it would only make it obvious. Especially after that scene with him almost drooling all over Yoochun’s naked body!
“I swear, if you kiss me,” Yoochun winked, dimples showing up, “I’ll kiss you back.”
Jesus fucking Christ, this man knew how to flirt.
He tried to pull his hand out of Yoochun’s tight grasp but failed, for Yoochun pulled him even closer, their bodies completely aligned to each other’s. The gap between them was making it even harder to resist.
Fuck this, he couldn’t deny himself any longer.
The more he stared at Yoochun’s lips, the more appealing they seemed, but even before he could talk himself out of it again, Yoochun grabbed the back of his head and leaned forward.
The moment their lips touched, Jaejoong knew he was doomed.
“I like you, if the kiss hadn’t been enough for you.” Yoochun said after the mind-blowing kiss.
Biting his lower lip, Jaejoong mumbled the same words with rosy cheeks and everything.
“You seriously look like a blushing virgin, right now,” Yoochun teased him.
Jaejoong’s blush deepened. Shaking his head, he tried changing the subject, “It was Kame, wasn’t it?”
Yoochun laughed, “With Changmin and Yihan…”
“Ehh?! Ugh. Those fuckers!”
“Yihan was complaining about how bitchy you have been these days. So this Kame guy said that the only solution was to kiss and fuck you hard. After which Changmin added that he would be moving out and start rooming with Yihan.”
“That sounds like we’ll be getting a room to ourselves… like a newly married couple.”
Yoochun smiled lovingly at him. “Aren’t we? Speaking of, we have some unfinished… business.”
The door to the bathroom snapped shut like somebody had been pushed against it, about to be kissed and fucked hard.
