"Dance with me," he said, tugging on Jaejoong's arm.

Yoochun comes up with the weirdest request at times, and Jaejoong is used to it by then. He smiled and slid off the bed, pulling Yoochun up with him, and held him by the waist. Yoochun circled his arms around Jaejoong's shoulder and started humming, swaying to the soft beats of the song Jaejoong was sure Yoochun made up in his mind just now.

They moved around in the room, swaying around the darkness, making dancing shadows under the moonlight. Yoochun leaned his head on Jaejoong's shoulder and the other shivered, feeling Yoochun's warmness.

The humming faded, and all that's left was the warmth of each other's embrace against Jaejoong's thin cotton-covered skin and Yoochun's thick wool-covered one. His breath fell on Jaejoong's neck, puffing to his ears, and it was warm. Their feet still moved, step by step by step by step around the room, turning around, slow and light.

Yoochun closed his eyes; Jaejoong knew because the brush of Yoochun's eyelashes against his neck sent chill down his spine. He buried his face in Yoochun's hair, inhaling his scent, memorizing. Yoochun always smelled like vanilla dreams.

Jaejoong started humming, picking up where Yoochun left off, and Yoochun smiled. His arms slid down to Jaejoong's chest, feeling his heartbeat. Thump. Thump. Thump. Echoing in the silent room. Their feet slid on the wooden floor with no noise, only gentle creaks of the house from time to time.

Because with Yoochun, it was never about who loves each other more, who said it first, and who gave up most.

Because with Yoochun, it was always about making every second counts, making each and every intake of breath worth it. And it’s worth it.

“Happy birthday,” Jaejoong whispered, even when it was too dark to tell whether the clock stroke midnight, whether the day had changed and time had flowed like the river it is, or whether it stopped and stayed in that moment forever, like he always felt when he’s with Yoochun.

Yoochun smiled against Jaejoong’s collarbone, mouthing something inaudible, but Jaejoong understood.

“Yeah,” he smiled back, “me too.”

Times like these were the most priceless to Jaejoong.
