A/N: A fic I've written for lemonademelon last year while she was having a hard time with exams. Yeah, I'm sweet like that lol
I Swear
My eyes scanned the area as my fingers moved across the pads of my phone.
I’m meeting with Changmin right now, was told to come at our usual spot and that I should be there on time. But I've been here for quite some time and I still couldn't see him anywhere. I looked down again on my phone as my fingers hovered over Changmin's name, I was ready to call him when a loud sound from behind interrupted me. And so I looked over at my back, a frown setting on my face.
There was a video playing on the big screen attached on one of the buildings in the area, it was for advertisement and commercial stuffs but instead of seeing some endorsements, I saw a familiar place playing in the screen.
It was the place where I first met Changmin. Then I heard his voice...
"I can still remember how we met."
My eyes widened in shock. The video was taken when my team had won the soccer game back in college. What was happening here? My thoughts screamed. I looked around again, hoping to see Changmin in the crowd but he wasn't anywhere around. I groaned mentally, cheeks heating up.
A picture had then replaced the short clip. Now, it was the place where Changmin had taken me for our first date.
He then continued narrating.
"You're not into romantic dates, you dislike candle light dinner with a band playing us a love song," And then the picture changed into something adorable. I remembered that moment, but I didn't know Changmin had taken a shot of me while I was talking to a kid at the park. The bright smile on our faces as we ate cotton candy together on the bench, were perfectly captured on the picture. "You're the simplest date I've ever had… but I enjoyed it the most." Changmin ended. And I know, as he said that, there was a soft smile plastered on his face.
Then all of a sudden, my face popped out of the screen. It was again a short clip, obviously taken when I was sleeping with my lips slightly pursed in a pout. The heat that spread on my cheeks went down to my neck. Geez, it was embarrassing, people were starting to recognize me, giving me knowing smiles.
My gaze went back to the big screen, the video shook a bit then Changmin's face came into view, there was a caption below saying...
Don't creep out love, I just wanted to kiss you.
I swear my heart was beating so fast I was sure I’m having cardiac arrhythmia, then I heard him say, "I love you" and then Changmin's lips met mine.
This was crazy, I wanted to run away from here but my feet refused to obey me. I just stood there, not moving.
A couple of pictures were shown after that. One of which was a picture of myself as I was tasting the soup I was cooking. I remembered Changmin saying, he loved it when I'm in the kitchen, he would sneaked behind and hugged me whether I'm cooking or washing the dishes. Then a few pictures on my birthday for the past three years that we’ve been together were shown as well, along with a few random ones that we had taken.
I know you're wondering why I’m doing this, wondering where the hell I am. But please don't get mad, Junsu yah. The text displays in bold letters,Bear with me, spare me a moment of your time because this will only take a few, was added right after.
Then the screen changed once more with another text in display.
I'm thankful that I'd met you and if given another chance, I would like to meet you the way I met you the first time.
And if going to amusement park and having picnic outside, with your head on my lap as I read my book on constitution is your preferred date, I would gladly go with you all the time just to make you happy.
Pictures kept coming along with the texts. There was this one shot where I was practicing alone in the field, it was one sunny morning, the day Changmin said he couldn’t come to the practice with me. Now, I know why he said he had plans that morning. Then, the other one was taken in the amusement park, it was on our second date.
You know when I’m happiest the most? Every time I kiss you.
You might not be the best cook like Jaejoong hyung, but at least you make the best ramen! ^^v
I hope I won't run out of ideas to surprise you on your birthday. . .
And then suddenly I felt the warmth spreading inside of me as I stared at the picture on display. We were lying facing each other with my head on Changmin's arm, his other arm wrapped around me. I wondered who took that picture of us. Maybe it was Jaejoong hyung or Yoochun even.
“But do you know what I wanted the most?"
Suddenly, there was Changmin’s voice again, echoing around us. I looked over at my back and there he was, holding a microphone on his hand, flashing me a sweet smile.
"I wanted to wake up with you right next to me for every morning of every day."
Tears started brimming at the side of my eyes, ready to fall anytime.
"And do you know what I needed the most?"
"What?" I found myself asking back when Changmin was few steps away from me.
"Is YOU. You're all that I needed."
"But I'm already yours."
"Right now, yes. But how about tomorrow? Then the day after? Then next week or next month? I don't know how long you'll be mine."
All of a sudden, Changmin kneeled while opening a small box in front of me and then he popped the question I didn't expect he would ever ask me.
"Would you like to spend the rest of your lifetime with me?"
My hands were trembling; all noises had faded right at that moment. I closed my eyes trying to calm myself and then there was tears rolling down my cheeks. Then suddenly, two loud voices were cheering at the background, telling me to say yes. They didn't need to tell what to do; I knew exactly what to say.
I faced Jaejoong and Yoochun first, smiling at them. If Jaejoong hyung and his boyfriend Yoochun didn't intervene with my love life before, I wouldn't have met Changmin. Ever.
So I turned around and met Changmin's gaze, then I nodded with a smile.
"I will be yours… forever."
