I got a job! *dances*
I met these 2 guys from a corrugated box-making company called PCA at the career fair after graduation. They had an information session and then interviews a few weeks later. I went back up to Orlando to meet them and the next day, on the drive home, I got an e-mail from them inviting me up to visit the paper mill in Valdosta, GA. I went two weekends ago and they offered me a job on the spot. They were all so nice and funny. All of them bicker like siblings, especially across the departments. Also, my future-boss told me that he doesn't know anyone who they've offered a job to on their first visit to the mill. I feel special. My mom and I are going up next weekend to get a tour of the mill and see if I can't find somewhere to live. They want me to start by the end of July!
Currently, I'm watching Dr. Who. I finished Torchwood a while ago and just got seasons 1-4 of Dr. Who to watch. It took *forever* to download because the internet at my house goes down all the time. It's so good. I can't wait to watch the new season. I can wait even less for new Torchwood. I hope I can get good satellite TV when I move so I can watch this stuff for real.
I've also been catching up on Degrassi. My parents have Dish and I love to watch the reruns. TeenNick is doing a whole rewind - showing all the old episodes before they premiere the Boiling Point episodes next month. Which looks really exciting. I hope I can watch it! It looks amazing.
I keep seeing all these websites starting Book Clubs. But I have so many books to read that I can't participate. I have a monstrous stack of books to read that I bought and if my mom catches me buying more books, I think she'll lose it. I've decided to kind of start my own. I don't have any deep insights on the whole thing, but maybe if I write down more about the books I read, then I won't forget them so much. I keep finding books on my shelves that I remember reading but can't remember the plot or characters at all. It's good and bad. Good because then I don't have to keep buying books - I can just reread the ones I have forgotten about. But bad because they don't seem to leave a lasting impression.
I am currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I really like it. I usually stick to YA Lit but this book is really good. I decided to read it because they are making a movie of it and I read an article that said Alison Scagliotti should be considered for a part in it. I really like her in Warehouse 13 and I wanted to decide for myself if she would fit the character. So far, I definitely agree with the article. I can't imagine her doing everything Lisbeth Salander does currently, but I would love to see it happen. The only problem is, the book takes place in Sweden. I don't know how that accent would sound coming from her. Also, I keep trying to place an actor in the role of Mikael Blomkvist but I can't come up with anyone. He reads much older than he is supposed to be and I don't know of any actor off the top of my head who seems much older than his age.
Anyhow, that's all for now. I'm still dancing about getting a job. I thought I'd never get one. (And certainly not for what they're paying me! Haha.) I'll try to update more on the book when I actually finish reading it. :P
