tattoo idea
been playing with the idea of getting a tattoo representing the maternal line in my family: flowers or something. I mentioned it to my mom the other day, and she liked the idea. One for me, one for her, my grandma and my great grandma. I was originally thinking dogwood blooms on a branch, but that has no significance. What would have significance?
I just realized: lilacs. The ancient lilac trees in my ancestoral home. If we ever sell the house, the smell of my great grandfather and grandmother's lilacs would be taken away. I need to take cuttings of them and plant them here this spring. And I think a lilac branch would be a breathtaking tattoo. Some of them partially open, some fully bloomed kind of like this:
