Well now... I couldn;t wait
Been nearly a year since I posted, yes... ANd I could not keep away any loinger. This is gonnabe a short entry, since Im rather drunk sa you can tell by the spelling mistakes all over. :P
This past Tuesday, Fallen and I got a rather surprising priveledghe. For those that wknow, we have been volunteering at a raptor center on the island (www.pnwraptors.com) for about a year now, and in that time we'e both learned a lot and had a lot of fun, one day a week going up and learnign the art of falconry and being with the birds of prey. This past tuesday, thbough, was a truye show iof what they thought of us. SOmeone called into the center and said they had seens an owl, laying in a ditch beside a road about 30 mins away. The diresctor/ owner of the place didn't have time to go and check it out, and as such she left it to us to go out and se what was the issue, and bring the owl back for care. So him and I went out, in our fancy new uniforms, to retrive the owl (turned out to be a barred owl, appearing as if was hit by a car) and bring it back. It was a rather new job to us, never before having done such a job on our own, and all in all it worked out well. Grtanted, the owl had to be put down as it had a broken wing right at the join, where it couldn't be splinted or fixed up, but it felt good kjnowing that they had trusted us to do this.
I'm proud to have this jo b, very proud! :>
