Hmph, I fucked myself again because of my lack of research and planning. I was hoping to go to Pacific Northwest Raptors this srping for a week-long falconry course. SO I went to check up on it just yesterday, and it turns out I just missed the last course. Mar 18-23rd... Now I have to wait till September for the next one. >< Oh well, I have waited about 23 years, I can wait a little longer.
However, that also means that I will have to go when I plan to be back in school. Missing one week is not horrible, but it really does matter. Crud.
That was the bad, now for the good. I found my new goal.
http://www.sibertiger.com I WILL go there and take all the courses. As many of my friends know, working with big cats has long been my dream job. And it still is. I just never knew how to get into it. This place provides that perfect opportunity for me to work with them for some time and maybe get my foot in the door somewhere, and definitely talk to folks about where I could get a job and what kind of training I need. Hopefully I can make my way down there in the next couple of years. My parents have offered to pay for any schooling I really want, and this is something I REALLY want. I'd still prefer to work at it on my own, though.
Current plans for future though rest in going back to school. UVic hopefully, and my hopes for that rest on getting in as a mature student. My highschool grades were not high enough to meet their cuts otherwise. Cutoff is 75% average. My provincially examinable courses were 75%, 75%, 79% and 63%.
So, summary. Fall: falconry course. Fall: UVic (hopefully) Eventually: Working with big cats.
