So I went to Old Orchard today with my mom to get a better size for the ring she gave to me for my birthday / christmas (it doesn't really matter). It took 2 minutes. Then we went shopping. I bought a pair of jeans. Mini dresses are in style. I think it's cute. One particular rack caught my eye. Hanging there were a bunch of mini dresses that were made out of the exact same material as my skirts and jumpers in grade school. In case you didn't know, I went to a Catholic grade school where I had to wear a uniform every day. From first through fifth grade we had to wear plaid. At first it was a red, black, and green pattern, but eventually they changed it to a red and black only plaid pattern. Sixth through eigth grade it was a solid navy blue skirt. Well, the dresses that were hanging there had both of the plaid patterns! I thought I should get rid of the gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket, so I chose the red and black plaid and bought it. It turns out that I didn't have nearly as much money on the gift card as I thought (oh yeah, I did use that one) but that don't matter.
I was so excited about this plaid.
It had to be the ugliest thing in the store. Obviously, they're selling. But nobody wears the ridiculous things that I do. Which is good. This poor girl in the dressing room-- she was trying on a similar greenish plaid dress and she came out and asked my mom if she thought it was ugly. My mom said no, of course, and that she looked very pretty. She said that the girls working the place where trying to convince her not to buy it!
But anywho, I bought the dress. Back at home I rummaged through my drawers, looking for something that has been buried for quite some time. I knew it was there because it hasn't been too long that I went through my drawers and threw old things out. But I kept onto this because I knew I'd use it in the future. I found it: a old plaid bow to match my uniform! I held it up to my dress, and sure enough it's a perfect match.
eeee! Hahah!
(holy crap. i sound like...
...what have i done?)
