If you always give it your all, there's nothing special left.
Fuck. I'm not saying I hated Virginia Woolf, in fact I believe it deserved that ovation. Just what does it mean if every play gets an ovation?
I've been in three plays, Annie, Anne Of Green Gables, and Christmas Carol. Those first two were grade school and naturally received ovations from proud parents. Sure, the performance wasn't great, but the parents were so proud to see there kids on stage that they jumped to their feet. That's something special. I lept to my feet after seeing To Kill A Mocking Bird because I thought your performance of Atticus was one of the most well composed and impressive roles that I've ever seen a young adult in.
All three plays I was in did receive such ovations, as for deserving them? I think the first two are deserved, but as for Christmas Carol, I know my performance personally didn't have an impact on the auidience. I was one of many spectres, later a hag, and the ovation wasn't for me, it was for Robbie and Matthew.
Also, I never said anything about a matter of just liking the performance, it's whether or not it's deserving, that it brings to the plate that extra something. fuck...
