Homemade Chicken Soup
Homemade chicken soup from homemade chicken stock. Delicious! Even if it does look like there's more noodles in there than soup… ;)
I used my slow-cooker to make some chicken stock a week or so ago, using a carcass from my own 'fridge, and one from
magnifelyn's mother's 'fridge. The crockpot looked really beautiful when I dumped all the fresh herbs and veggies in there. I totally should have taken a picture then, but I didn't think of that.
So yesterday, I finally decided it was time to make some chicken soup, since it's good for soothing a sad
magnifelyn, especially when it's super tasty homemade chicken soup.
When I first tasted it, it was kind of bland, and I was worried about what to do, until I remembered that I hadn't used any salt in the whole process so far. I know how important salt is, but I was still surprised at what a difference just a little bit of salt made. You can't taste the salt, because I didn't use enough to make it salty. But it did make the soup taste rich and robust.
I'm so happy to be able to cook in my own kitchen again.
