You're definitely a woman who knows a thing or two :0) And I would never discourage anyone from watching the lads!

They were more or less head to head with Starsky and Hutch when the shows aired in the UK (remembering at the time we only had three TV channels) - but although I enjoyed Starsky and Hutch, it was always the lads for me :0)

Although I can't begin to describe what a culture shock Huggy Bear was - the majority of the black population living in the UK at the time had voluntarily emigrated from one part of the Empire (the Caribbean) to another part (the UK) - or had come in from Africa (places like Nigeria).

The was a reggae influenced music scene, which by the time the lads arrived had developed into mainstream ska and two tone. But colourful black characters in the UK consciousness were laid back weed smoking Jamaicans - not jive talking hustlers with a penchant for flamboyant disco clothing! We had literally never seen anything like him.

I was thinking I need to crank up a Pros ep myself, it's been a while since I watched one - ditto Star Trek (sans my still misplaced season two) and MFU. Fancy a binge fest :0)
