So how is July going so far ?
Life:
Still very grateful I am employed, but having a job isn't always great for your health. Let's call this one a work in progress.
In unrelated woes, as already relayed to
ali15son, my internet connection keeps dropping out - and today my computer is making worrying noises.
I have a car to fix (brakes - which I have come to view as a priority maintenance item - I now sound like CI5's finest every time I pull into a supermarket car park), and insure, which comes first, but I think a new computer may be next on the list - here's hoping it lasts until I can afford to replace it !
Fic:
Read more fic (
noblesentiments and
mfu_shortstorie) - have I ? Well yes, I have, but not as much as I'd like, still finding it hard to concentrate, but reading stories I've read before is easier, so I've re-read some of those.
I also re-read my own
The Long Trick, with a view to writing a sequel. The Artwork is obviously flawless, and please check it out, just follow the links in the AO3 story summary, but the story's not as bad as I remember it either (I was a bit disappointed it needed an epilogue because I wanted to end it on the headland, but when I got there it turned out to be more of a cliffedge, so I felt obliged to add one), therefore I'm adding that to my 'optional' list.
Something for WT by June - bona fide sucess, actually achieved this ! Will probably make its way onto AO3 in the winter months, after I've come up with a title.
Optional - Complete (or nearly complete) WIP for Pros BB by July (Pros) - so failed on this - but on the upside, will actually get a chance to read the BB as it happens this year ! And I did pick my story up again last night, it's about three chapters long at the moment, and I mostly just re-read what I have and twiddled with it a bit, but I still like the story and would love to enter it next year - so that's all I'm saying about that :0)
Complete 'Park/Hotel' (MFU)
Complete 'MIA' (MFU)
Complete 'Once Upon a Time Affair' serial (MFU)
Complete 'Old Corpses' (Pros)
Complete 'Action Squad' (Pros)
Complete 'WNGWJLEO' (Pros)
Optional - A sequel for 'The Long Trick' (Pros)
Optional - Complete 'Virtue' (Pros)
Optional - Complete 'On A High and Windy Hill' (Pros)
Optional - Complete 'Crosshairs' (Pros)
Optional - Complete one ST WIP (ST:TOS)
Optional - Complete Bingo squares (MFU & Pros)
So none of this happened.
Find out if
pros_wip is still a thing
Or this.
Admin:
Sort out fic folders and other transfers from old computer
Sort out back up
Sort out spreadsheets (don't ask)
Archive non-archived stories
Sort out a place to store piccies on-line
Optional - finish indexing WTF (now there's an serendipitous acronym!)
Optional - Proslib CD
Nope, nada, didn't do.
Zines:
Read the ones you have!
Aim to clear at least one Zinedom Volunteers zine per weekend
Nothing yet, but feeling more optimistic about this one.
Lj, debates and other stuff:
Find more time for Lj and try to comment on everyone's posts
Post more questions to Lj
Find time for
picowrimoFind more time for cheerleading
jantojones'
Adipose crusade (still hope hooking up in Cardiff becomes a thing)
Catch up with kelpercomehome's South American adventures
Write a proper Letter of Comment for 'A Balcony and a View of the Sea'
Post another 30/31 days of fanwork (and update Lj tags accordingly)
Still struggling with all of the above - with the possible exception of
picowrimo, which is on again. I would love to share progress (if not content) on nascent BB. Here's hoping my PC and wellbeing are up to it.
However, in other news, I have purchased, to cheer myself up, the full box set of Starsky and Hutch (don't pay full price, the boxset has a number of issues - but the actual episodes are fine) - and Due South (there is a dodgy boxset out there, but I did my homework and paid full price for a decent version) - and the completist in me drove me to patch the holes in my Star Wars collection, which I also did mainly second hand, with the exeception of Solo and The Last Jedi.
I also picked up a re-play DVD of the re-booted
Clangers - the re-boot is charming and I intend to track down the other episodes as well as the original series. Love a bit of cult kids TV.
And I keep eyeing up the Network re-release of the CI5 lads, but haven't quite taken the plunge yet.
