Been Playing With My Paintbox - Again..

So, I've decided Krita Desktop is not for me...but, inspired by BSL's pictures of Spring attempting to blossom in Wells, I did come up with this...

In theory there's still a month to go before Spring is official. But our plants have no idea of the season and have been totally confused by the warm winter so far. We have been warned that daffodils only bloom once a year so if they're flowering now we won't have any for Easter. We have a patch of crocus that are bravely flowering despite the rain and an ornamental quince that is convinced summer is just around the corner. Meanwhile, I bought daffodils from the supermarket and they lasted, looking glorious, for nearly two weeks.

Your painting is very vibrant and encouraging!

Daffodils have always been a favourite flower (I like dandelions too, but the neighbours are less fond...)

Krita doesn't allow for much fine tuning. It was overly complicated - like Doyle, my talent is a pedestrian one - I prefer the 'technicalities' not to hamper proceedings. I also tried Inkscape - but that didn't replicate the feel of actually drawing.

So I'm sticking with paint.net and its plug-ins, which is more intuitive, once you get the hang.

Still, I would never have attempted 'blobby' painting without Krita. I keep seeing it as a tea towel!

I'm waiting for the bulbs to blossom - they've put up shoots - and the indoor plants are thriving.

Spring is definitely thinking about Springing - I'd love a t-shirt summer. I could do with a good old dose of British sunshine - not just the odd bright day :0)

I only recently ventured into Paint - my usual default is to take one of my photographs and do some intensive photoshopping with Photoshop. Or to draw on a piece of that old fashioned stuff called paper and then scan...

I will get plenty of sunshine in Portugal in the summer but it seems a long way off. Still, I do get months of it!!

That's why I like paint.net - I can play with photo's in it too.

Sunshine in Portugal sounds lovely :0)

For some reason that link takes me to an American paint company...

That's better! Thank you! I will give it a try because although husband bought me the paid version of Photoshop it doesn't always behave as expected.
