Update on my wrist
Seen the nurse today. Big mix up as I was supposed to have a phone call an hour beforehand and go down to the surgery, but instead they turned up here. I wasn't showered or dressed and the house is a mess. So I threw on a dress and had a new dressing put on whilst sitting on the stairs in the landing by the door. The cut is over the scar from the last operation and is healing nicely, just a little damp at one end, but I have like fishing line coming out of each end and tied into a knot in the centre. The new dressing is like a giant band-aid or sticky plaster for those who don't understand the band-aid reference. All the crepe bandages and the padding are off now so i can go back to wearing my splint for now. It feels tender and bruised, but it nice to have more of my arm back and my skin is slowly going back to normal, was all bobbly from the crepe bandages. I have to see the nurse again next week to remove the great big stitches hanging out of my arm. Not looking forward to that, for when the nurse moved them around it hurt. I don't see the specialist at the hospital again till mid August.
