(no subject)
Within the space of a few hours late this afternoon, I:
1. got a very nice letter back from the Scottish prof who helped me with my research project the summer before last, talking about various developments in Gaelic computing and offering to help me get the further data I need to make my senior project more convincing;
2. found out that I've been accepted to my first choice Beijing program for next year (among other considerations, they give students single rooms!) -- allowing me to briefly blot out the fact that all these plans are conditional on funding that I may or may not be awarded, and I'll probably find out my fate in the next few days;
3. in celebration, treated myself to a public library trip, and discovered that a new Kage Baker novel is out. And now it is MINE, for two whole weeks! Bwahahaha.
Then I went to a psych study and ate some rather good chocolate, for pay.
I would say something dark and brooding about how surely awful things are going to start happening now I've used up my week's supply of good karma, but I'm actually still in an absurdly good mood, so I won't. :)
