I've noticed a disturbing increase in the usage of the word "folks." "Folks" standing in for the word "people" and making the speaker sound like an idiot. Such as something like "We know a lot of folks are suffering right now."
DOWN HOME!
Seriously, why is it okay to say "folks" all the time now? I know that Bush says it ALL THE TIME in an attempt to project the image of "I'm just one of the country boys, just like you! Anyone could be President! Seriously, anyone, even those severely underqualified and developmentally 'behind'." But that's definitely not a good enough reason for its widespread re-entry into the lexicon.
Americans are stupid. Everyone wants/wanted a president that was a regular joe, because they're regular joes, not realizing that regular joes should NOT be given any power, because even on a smaller scale of importance, like being a store manager, regular joes are dicks.
