Grammy Watching as an Adam Lambert Fan

So I spent three hours yesterday watching a webcast of the Grammys. It was quite interesting to watch the pre-televised ceremony.  I liked seeing a more relaxed and casual version of the Grammys.  And the lack of commercials was great.

I was really really hoping for an Adam Lambert win. I  guessed it was unlikely but I am a huge fan of the guy, LOVE his voice, and would have loved to see him up there on that stage. Afterwards I noticed his rings were bronzish gold, same shade as the Grammy statuette, and wished I could have seen him holding that award in his hands.

Watching him place second, not first, on Idol was sad for me, so it would've been a sweet to see him win a Grammy, such a public acknowledgement of his talent. It was pretty wonderful to see his name up there with all the nominees. I was sweating and my heart was pounding as they led up to his category.  I had thought Michael Jackson would win so I wasn't surprised Adam didn't get the nomination.

I wish him a lifetime of recording and performing, and many future Grammy nominations and wins. Watched Mavis Staples and Neil Young take home their first Grammys. Mavis said, "It's been a long time coming!"
