long time, no see...
yay, i'm in the process of moving into a cabin! its off farmers loop and has among other things a community sauna and is two driveways from ruth's boyfriend. i am also stage managing Picnic this semester, directed by Lee H. Salisbury himself. its going to be great! this year is the 50th anniversary of Theatre UAF, and we will be celebrating with a huge gala and we've invited all the Theatre UAF alumni to come join us.
i was in NYC for most of christmas break, and although i would find it rather... bland to live there, it was fantastic to have broadway shows and museums and art galleries at my fingertips. it made me realize how much of a healthier life i could live if i weren't in fairbanks. it felt so good to be there, walking everywhere and being active all day long, not to mention the fresh fruits and vegetables that were dirt cheap. ugh. and there were about 25 types of hummus in every market, it was disgusting. i'm so jealous.
on a side note, saw the movie where ewan mcgreggor goes from london to nyc (through all of europe to the far eastern edge of russia to ak) on a motorcycle- it was great. also watched jesus camp, which was terrifying. these people have absolutely no rational ethics, and are pushing all these kids to blindly follow the lord. ahh! also had the interesting experience of smoking a bowl at the marlin with a pregnant hippie chick. it was sick. what is she thinking??
