So of course, every time I see a new Harry Potter movie or read a new Harry Potter book (which there will be no more of, sadly), I need to update my LJ with my thoughts!!

I have to say that going in, I was super excited to see it. The commercials looked really awesome to me - I may have just been thrilled that they actually included ( Read more... )

Yeah they totally dropped the ball on the Half Blood Prince part.

I really have no idea why they burned down the Burrow. Bellatrix and Greyback show up, and then they pretty much have Harry and Ginny and yet don't do anything (and come on, it's Bellatrix and Greyback, we know they are capable of some serious destruction). And then they decide instead to light the Burrow on fire??? It was totally random and stupid. If they had wanted to really kill the Weasleys (which I'm sure they do) then they would have set the house on fire right away, instead of alerting everyone to their presence...

In any case, shouldn't the Burrow have had better protection than that??

If they felt it absolutely necessary to include that scene, they should have put in some kind of explanation about it, right?

Yeah as a whole I thought the movie was really funny and I liked it. I really enjoyed the first three quarters of it (I was thinking, this is the best HP movie yet!) but as it got closer to the end and I saw how many scenes they had taken out that I like and/or thought were important it kind of went down a little. But it's still my favorite of the movies to date. (It probably helps that it is also my favorite book of the series).
