It was a great honour to meet him, to be at his reading at the Hawk's Well (less than a month ago!)... and it is sad to know that he passed away.
But poets do not die in the ordinary sense, do they? They continue living in their poems... in their works "of lyrical beauty and ethical depth, which exalt everyday miracles and the living past".
I take my hat off to Seamus Heaney, one of the greatest Irish poets.
