Winter

Chill air blowing in from the north. A sparkle of snow on the ground. Mountains cloaked by whipped cream clouds. More snow sifting down from the floured clouds above. Small animal footprints pitter-patting through the crystalline dust. Squirrels scampering across glassed-over branches. The first day of winter breathing over the land.

Yep, first day. We've had a sprinkling of snow earlier in the year, but this is the first real snow. And lucky me, I get to go out and shovel. Fun. *sarcasm*
