I think I'm poor...

Holy mother. I probably should be used to the price of things in Australia by now, but still they shock me every single day. I don't know why. Maybe it's because before I came over, people were saying I would find it cheaper than back home. Yeah, that's the biggest lie of the century ( Read more... )

Shop in Jay Jays, they're pretty cheap. Also Jeans West and Just Jeans have their cheaper items, but jeans are expensive. If you're in Melbourne or Sydney you can go to DFO - just not the Melbourne city one cos that's shit. There's alot of cheap stores in the city too if you know where to look.

But really they can charge us whatever they want cos we're so isolated it's not like we can go shopping in another country :-P

Yeah, I'm not touching any jeans here...I wasn't even going to buy any clothes because it's not like I have any space in my bags but it's cold!
You can go shopping in New Zealand, maybe that's cheaper?:)

Hahah. New Zealand? Nope. Same as here.

Cheap is Vietnam. I know people who go there with an empty suitcase and get a whole wardrobe of clothes made for about $50. Dresses for 5 dollars, skirts for $3, all handmade...

Oy, good luck with the train trip. Hope you feel better this time.

I saw IJ 4 yesterday and I loved it although I've seen a lot of people complaining about it. Everyone has a different taste ;)

Thanks!
I'm looking forward to the movie because I like the first three a lot so I'll definitely go see it at some point.

I've seen it. It's worth the $15.

Now you know why I was happy to tip really well in the US. Even with a decent sized tip, things over there were dirt cheap compared with home.

I had someone mention that our pay's not too bad, but when you take into account the fact that people on 150,000 (which is rare, the average is 50,000) are paying 45% and the highest rate in the US is 35% and comes in at about $360,000, you understand just how different the situation is.

US is really cheap compared to here, yeah. I'm worried now I won't be able to buy my souvenir T-shirts...:)

Nope, not at all. That impression was shattered on my first day in Sydney.

Did you hit your head in teh crash or hurt your neck? I ask because it may have something to do with your stomach feeling unwell. Maybe get yorself checked out by a doctor again just in case.

I thought that at first but they checked everything out after the crash including x-rays of my neck and all that and there were no problems. I think it's just because I ate really shitty food for two months, there wasn't much choice in the tiny town I was living in so it wasn't very healthy.
