Back from the country

So, back in Melbourne. Sorry for having disappeared for a week - I worked on a farm near Albury in NSW for five days. They needed some help as their regular worker had to go care for her mum who'd been in a car accident. She was supposed to be gone for up to a month but ended up coming back after just one week, so my job was cut shorter than originally thought. Oh well. It was good fun but damn, I was starting to feel the isolation already and this place wasn't even that isolated - only about 10 km from the nearest town. Maybe I'm not suited for a farm job after all...they asked me to come back in the spring for a longer while so I need to seriously think about whether I'm up for it.

I'm now trying to decide whether to try and find some casual job here in Melbourne or go fruit picking up in Mildura or Shepparton. City life, as much as I love it, demands more money and while I'm still doing pretty good, I don't want to spend all my savings. Can't believe I've only been in Australia for less than six weeks. Feels like six months at least.

Should go back to the hostel, which is right around the corner and do laundry. Am also in need of coffee as the hostel's free breakfast only had tea...I'm not the biggest fan of tea at all but that one wasn't too horrible.
