I was just checking out the webpages for Charles de Lint to see what he's published recently, and found this at the bottom of his homepage. It's the most bizarre bit of legislation I've ever seen, in a *very* scary way.
"In most states the penalty for an adult who rapes a child is twenty years plus-unless that adult happens to be related to the child-in which case the maximum sentence could be probation. You have to worry about the mindset of people who legislate this way, but have Megans' Law. Not that I'm having a go at the US per se as I'm sure the UK has some strange laws too, but really....
