Recess Appointments and Republican Hypocrisy

Quote from a news article on CNN today:

"Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tennessee, complained that consideration of presidential nominees is an important role for the Senate."

How very interesting. An American Fascist Republican believes that consideration of presidential nominees is an important role for the Senate. This came up as a complaint after the current President did just like every President (G W Bush included) before him and made some recess appointments....

I'd buy this stupid sonofabitch's Senator's complaints *IF* the Senators from the American Fascist Republican Party WOULD actually allow the Senate to consider (and, as a direct requirement of consideration) actually VOTE on the President's nominations of appointees for public office. Of course, that's EXACTLY the problem which this ignorant prick Sen. Alexander was refusing to address while making his complaints to CNN-- so long as the American Fascist Republican MINORITY would rather hide behind the blatantly unconstitutional exercise of the filibuster (and every other obstructionist tactic they can think of) INSTEAD of actually exercising their Senatorial duty to consider and vote on (yes or no-- it's NOT that complicated) the President's nominations, he's going to have to use recess appointments in lieu of the Senate actually exercising its Constitutional responsibilities.

Not to mention the sheer fucking hypocrisy involved on the part of Bitch Mitch McConnell and the American Fascist Republican party on this specific issue-- a few years ago, back in King George W's Reign GW Bush's Presidency, Bitch Mitch McConnell himself stated emphatically that filibusters should never be used to block votes on Presidential nominations, that every Presidential nominee should get a straight 'up or down' vote, regardless of balance and opinion in the Senate, and that using the filibuster in that manner was downright unfair, unamerican, and unconstitutional. The way Bitch Mitch said it then, it sounded like he meant that to be a principle for all time and all Presidents, regardless of Party affiliation. It's amazing how fast Bitch Mitch changed his tune as soon as someone from the other Party got into the White House-- I just wonder if he really thinks the American people have forgotten the position he once held on this issue, as compared with his stance and actions now.
