Hello LJ!
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on here, so I wanted to make a post so that the world (i.e. those not on facebook) know that I'm okay! lol
Many things have happened over the last month that I should have posted about. For starters, I dropped out of French school and went back to my Anglo job! Yep, I am happy to say that I made it to level 4 of 6, and though I left at the beginning of level 4 I can almost-kinda-sorta-function in French when I have to. I read my newspaper every single morning in French and when I watch TV in French, I use French subtitles so I catch everything.
À chaque jour, je lis le journal en français et je regarde la télévision avec des sous titres en français pour que je ne manque rien.
I will learn French eventually, and I hope that one day I can say that I'm bilingual!!
More importantly, I left school because I was given the opportunity to go back to my job. Working in my field (marketing/communications) and I'm slowly getting back to doing the things I was able to do before I got sick. I'm not fully recovered, in that I realize I will never be exactly the same as before the stroke, however, I am in a much better place these days, I have regained most of my skills and many of the problems I had with writing and proofreading and organization skills - have righted themselves.
It's been a long recovery, but I'm ready to say that things are good, I feel good and everything is finally starting to feel normal again. :D
btw, yay for Barack Obama's reelection! I wish I could go to the inauguration in January. It's a shame that the U.S. and much of the world is still in shambles economically, but at least we have 4 more years (I mean, you lucky Americans have 4 more years, this frustrated anglophone in Quebec has a provincial government that is trying to push her out of the province even though there are no jobs for me to steal away from French folks anyway.....).
Anyway, there's not much more for me to update the world on. I'm heading to Toronto on the 24th to spend Christmas with the family, then travelling all the way to Quebec City to spend New Year's with the in-law's. I also bought some Muse tickets on Friday, for the concert on April 24th, 2013. I got floor seats - meaning I'll be jumping around in the pit (and I finally have the strength to stand up for 4 hours again)!!! :D
Finnegan got his winter haircut this morning and he looks quite precious...
Anyhoo, Happy Holiday's to you and yours. I may not post again until the New Year!xxEarleen (aka Finnistar)
