CSI Las Vegas Main List Nick slammed his baggage’s on the bed. The hotel room was small and murky, and
that was the most positive evaluation anyone could give to it. He glanced down to his
watch. The dinner rush was probably over by now, so he headed to the hotel restaurant.
Or…. that was what he was planning, anyway.
When he pushed his room door he heard a sharp yelp from the hallway. Nick followed
the noise and found another hotel guest holding his head.
“You okay?”
“You just hit me on the head with a door, what do you think?” The man pulled his hand
away from his head and fixed a pair of deep brown eyes on Nick. “Good thing I was
reading my guidebook, or you would have hit me on my nose, not my forehead.”
“Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was on the other side.”
“So you slammed it open?”
“Something like that…. Are you okay?”
“You already asked me that. I’ll be fine. I’ll have one hell of a headache, but I’ll be fine.”
“Are you sure?”
“I just told you….. I’ll have one hell of a headache, and I’ll be little woozy, and dizzy
and feel like passing out, but I’ll be fine.” During his speech the guy had started to
swing from side to side and then leaned against the wall for balance. He slowly slum-
ped down all the way to the floor.
“You’re not okay. I’m calling the reception and tell them to get help.”
“No! I’m on holiday, I’m not wasting it with a doctor.”
“Yeah, I can see your totally healthy.”
“I just…. I need to sit down for a minute.”
“You’re already sitting down.”
“Good, saves time.”
Nick sighed. “You can’t stay on the floor, come on. I think you better lay down.”
“Lay down… Are you trying to get me to your bed?”
“No.”
“Too bad, because it’s a really innovative new tactic…. Hit them on the head and
drag them to your cave….Wait a minute….I take it back, it’s not a new idea at all…”
“Do you always talk like that or is it just the bump on the head talking?”
“You really wanna know?”
“I’m not sure….”
“I think I could try walking again.” The guy got up slowly. He swayed from side
to side. “Good enough, I’m not going that far anyway.”
“You’re still going to go somewhere?”
“I was going to the hotel restaurant, I haven’t had any food since my flight,
and airline food is….. What is it? My head hurts too much to remember.”
“Awful?”
“Yeah, that’s it.” Guy tried to leave, but he had to lean against the wall.
Nick looked at his swaying and considered his options.
“Listen, I was going to get something to eat too. You want some company?”
“You just wanna see that I don’t fall face first on the floor.”
“That’s a part of it…”
“Okay, but make sure I don’t have any alcohol. I’m walking like a drunk already.”
-------------------------------------------------------------
“Feeling better?” Nick asked when the guy finished his meal. Nick had stared at
him with his mouth open. He had never seen anyone eat that amount of food so
fast.
“Yeah, my head’s not hurting anymore.” Blond wiped his mouth on a napkin.
“Greg.”
“What?”
“Greg. You?”
“Nick. And I can’t believe I didn’t notice that sooner.”
“Me neither. What are you here?”
“Eating?”
“In New York.”
“I have a seminar here. I’m starting a new job in two weeks, so I had to get
this done before that.”
“I’m starting a new job too, that’s why I came here. My last chance to have a
vacation for some time. My folks got me the trip as a birthday present.”
“What kind of a work do you do?”
“Nick….” Greg grinned a little bit. “Before we go there, I need to ask some
questions.”
“Okay….”
“You didn’t really seem to object when I said you wanted me in your bed. You
still think that way?”
“Yeah.” Nick admitted and blushed.
“How bout we make a deal?”
“I’m listening.”
“A holiday thing. No repercussions, talk about our normal life’s, no last names.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah, but if you’re not interested…..” Greg dropped few notes besides his empty
plate and got up to leave.
“I didn’t say I’m not interested!” Nick grabbed his arm to stop him.
“Good.” Greg grinned. “Your room or mine?”
“Can I finish my food first?”
“Are you saying your steak is more alluring than me?” Greg grinned.
“Two minutes.”
“Hurry up.”
That night they ended up in Greg’s room. The next five nights they spend in
Nick’s room.
