“Getting comfy?” Don asked when he walked into the nursery.
“She fell asleep on the ride back.” Charlie whispered. “And keep your voice down.”
He took the other receiver of the baby monitor and they went downstairs.

“Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, I went to get some of my stuff on the my way here, and I’m heading to
the airport next.”
“Good.”
“But before I leave, I want to talk to you about those Winchester brothers.”
“Don’t waste your time, Colby already told me about them in the car.”
“Then you know you better stay away from them.”
“Don, I’ve never even met the older one. And Sam is a smart guy.”
“That doesn’t mean they are harmless. They’ve been involved in several unsolved
cases. If you see them I want you to call the FBI. Our guys have been wanting to
chat them for some time. They’re constantly moving, so it’s hard to locate them.”
“Don-”
“Promise me.”
“Fine, I promise. And you promise you’ll fix things with Martin.”
“Promise.”

--------------------------------------------

“Where do I drop you off?” Ian asked and tap pined his fingers against the
steering wheel."
“At the office, my car’s still there." Megan groaned. "I just want to go home and get some rest.”
“Me too.” David agreed from the backseat. “By the way, how are you doing with
that paramedic? I can’t remember his name…”
“I never told you his name, it’s Matthew. And I’m going to give him a call when
I get home. I want to see if he’s like that fireman I knew couple years ago.”
“What was he like?”
“He dated one of my old college buddies. After two drinks he always started
doing CPR on anyone and anything who was near.”

“You want us to check the guys background? You never know if Mathew I is
actually Michael II.”
“No. There’s nothing to worry about. I never go on a date unarmed. Besides, he
seems harmless. Gorgeous, muscular twenty something with the IQ of a donkey.”
“Sounds promising.”

--------------------------------------------

“I’ll go get that.” Charlie hollered to Colby and walked downstairs. The doorbell
rang again as he opened the door.

“Hello.”
“Hey. Come in.”
“Thanks.” Sam walked in. “I just heard there was some kinda problems and I
though I’d drop by to see how you’re doing.”
“There was some…. Unexpected problems, but… everything’s okay now.”
“That’s nice to hear.”
“What about you? I thought you were going somewhere with your brother.”
“We did,
but the job was pretty quick.”
“Job? I thought you were on a road trip.”
“We are, we’re doing a temporary jobs
here and there.”
“I see. How’s brother doing?”
“Being a pain in the ass. Just like always. Yours?”
“Same.”
“Well…. I need to get going. We’re heading out of L.A. again.”
“Have fun.”

“Thanks. And tell your girl I said Hi.”
“I’ll tell her.”

Sam left and Charlie pulled out his cell phone. He stared at it for a minute.
Finally he put it back.

“Babe, who was it?” Colby came downstairs carrying Helen.
“Nothing. Mrs. Hofstad from across the street came to see if we’re okay. She
saw the police cars yesterday.”
“That’s nice. Can you take her? I’ll start the dinner.”
“Okay.” Charlie took Helen from Colby and sat down on the couch. “What are
we eating?”
“I’ll let you know when I know. I was planning to go shopping yesterday, but then
the whole day turned upside down.” Colby went to the kitchen.

Charlie placed the baby more comfortably against his shoulder.
“You know… you’re quite something. You’re not even one month old and you
already had your first gentleman caller. He told me to say Hi.”

Helen let out a small whimpered and nuzzled her face against his shirt.
“But I think he’s too old for you.”
