Eric pushed the door open and stepped in carefully, one slow step after another. He quickly checked the apartment, but the rooms were the way they had been when he had left. Eric had killed time on the beach and seen a late movie in the theatre, but in the end he had to come back to get some sleep.

He took a deep breath and crossed his arms across his chest.

“Wolfe! Come here, we need to talk.”

“Ask nicely.” Voice corrected. It seemed to come from the living room and Eric followed it. Wolfe was nowhere to be seen, so he aimed to the centre of the room.

“Please come here so we can have a nice little chat, you sneaky bastard.”

“That was better.” Wolfe appeared in front of him. “What do you wanna talk about?”
“This. I have my annual evaluation tomorrow, I need rest. I need to sleep.”
“Go ahead and sleep.”
“So… you’re not gonna do something again?”
“Like what?”
“Like smash my TV and spread all the food I have in the fridge all over the wall.”
“What do I get in return if I play nice?”
“You want me to bribe you to behave? You can’t be serious!”
“I am.” Wolfe laughed. “And I know what I want from you.”
“What?”
“You’ll figure it out.”
“So we got a deal?”
“Sure.”
“Great.” Eric sighed and rubbed his palms together. “Now would you just…?”

“Don’t forget our deal.” Wolfe grinned and the lines of his body started to face.

“Wait a minute.” Eric stated. Something from their catastrophic encounter earlier was nagging in the background of his mind. “Were you serious when you said you can’t leave?”

“I can’t leave the apartment.” The vision shrugged. “No idea why. One day I was here and the last thing I remembered was the sound of a gun.”
“You don’t remember ambulance or the hospital?”
“No. I was here.”
“No white light leading you somewhere?”
“Not even a flashlight.” Wolfe faded slowly, turning into a thin mist,  finally vanishing completely. "There`s plenty of light, but nothing to lead me anywhere."

------------------------------

For a while Eric almost wished he had bought an old fashioned clock that would tick. The silence in his dark bedroom was getting on his nerves. His digital clock didn’t tick, it just glowed neon green light, flashing teasing reminders of the passing time.

Eric rolled over to lay on his side and took a look at it. Almost one thirty in the morning. He wasn’t usually the type to get aggravated over evaluations, but this time his nerves were failing miserably. Darkness and silence made his mind wander to all possible directions and kept him awake. His eyes were finally slipping shut, but his hazy mind was still alert. He turned to lay on his back and focused on taking deep steady breaths.

He had been lulled into a half sleepy haze, when he felt lips pressing a kiss on his collarbone. His eyes snapped open and he stared straight into the darkness. He couldn’t see anyone.

“Wolfe? Are you here?”

No one answered. Instead his covers were pulled away.
“What the hell are you doing?”
He tried to grasp the invisible visitor, but a strong pair of hands grabbed him by the wrists, forcing his hands above his head. The lips returned and this time they were aiming at his lips. Eric tried to resist, but the insistent lips pressed against his own, tongue pushing in to caress his mouth. Eric let out a small whimper and responded, kissing the man. He didn’t even realise the hands were no longer holding him still. Instead they wandered down Eric’s chest, caressing his nipples and sliding down his abs.

They reached the waistband of Eric’s boxers and pulled them down.

Eric snapped awake. His eyes slowly adjusted to the dimness while his breathing evened. He looked down, but the blanket was covering his lower half, just like it had when he had gone to bed. Eric peeled the covers off and the wet, sticky patch on his boxers confirmed his suspicions. He had come in his pants.

Eric listened carefully, but he couldn’t hear anything besides his own thumping heartbeat.

He was alone.

------------------------------

“This gotta be a nightmare…” Speed groaned. He leaned across his kitchen counter and tried to get the filter into the coffee machine. His crossed eyes and shaky hands made the task almost impossible. “This is just a nightmare and I’m safe and sound in my own bed sleeping like your coma buddy.”

“That’s why I’m here!” Eric exclaimed. “Didn’t you hear a word I said?”
“Nope. Nothing after: Double portion of rice pudding and pour some hot sauce on them.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Then this gotta be a dream.” Speed finally managed to set up the coffeemaker and snapped it on. “What time is it?”
“Three twenty-seven.”
“And you decided to come for a visit… you didn’t even bring anything…”
“Do I ever bring anything when I show up?”

“You could have brought doughnuts or something if you wake people up like this…” Speed opened the cupboard and snatched a packet of chocolate cookies. “Did you just want company or are you playing Ghostbusters again?”
“It was Wolfe. He wants me to think it was a dream, but I know it was him.”
“Who was him? Or he was who? Or something…”
“I was sleeping and I had a dream.”
“And you just wanted to tell me about it?”
“A wet dream! About an invisible man!”
“Not the most original fantasy I’ve heard.”

“I woke up and there was…” Eric pointed down to his crotch. “… evidence of activity.”
“So you had a wet dream and you came in your pants. Why do I have to know about it?”
“Don’t you get it? I was molested in my sleep!”
“Can I be honest?”
“Shoot…”
“Apparently you’re getting more action in your sleep than I’ve been getting when I’m awake. I don’t wanna know about it, and I definitely don’t wanna be woken up at this hour to hear about it.”
“You’re not listening! It was Wolfe!”
“You’ve slept with dudes before, too late to start freaking out over that.”
“I’m not freaking out over that! I’m freaking out because I made out with a ghost of a comatose man!”

“That’s it, I’m not waiting.” Speed pulled the half full coffeepot from the machine, poured some milk into the pot and gulped it all at once. “Okay, I’ve had coffee. Now I’m awake enough to strangle you.”

“I think this is what it was aiming for the whole time.” Eric continued, ignoring his friends murderous expression. “He ruined my date with that blond from the lab. The one with the huge rack, Sarah or whatever.”
“Farrah.”
“She thought I was talking to my imaginary friend and that I was gonna cut her up and cover with whipped cream.”
“How did she get that idea?”
“Long story… What do I do now?”
“Go to work early and try to look cheerful. Maybe you’ll get extra points when you show up this early.”
“Yeah, maybe you’re right. Are you taking your bike? I can give you a ride.”

“I have today off.” Speed reminded, gritting his teeth and took a long swig from the re-filled coffeepot. “The one day I don’t need to get up before noon.”

“Whoops…” Eric gave him a shaky smile. “Sorry, I forgot.”
“Just wait till you got a day off… I’ll be knocking on your door at one in the morning and telling you how I just had a ten hours marathon orgy with six perverted ghouls, three zombies who got seasick in my waterbed, and a transvestite poltergeist who scratched my back with his heels.”
