Uncontrolled, Chapter 1/2

“I could say I told you so, but I’m not gonna say it.”

Sean opened one eye carefully. Cain was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking like a disappointed parent.
“What the hell do you want?”
“I told you they would eat you alive and I was right.”
“Go to hell.” Sean tried to pull the blanked over his face.
“Someone probably should have told you some basic rules. The fact that you had a late discovery and figured out you like guys as well as gals, doesn’t mean you have an all access pass to sail single-handedly around the entire male population of the state.”

“Let me sleep. Go back to wherever you came from.”
“It’s seven PM, you’ve slept the whole day. And I’m not going until I’m done here.” Cain grabbed the blanket and pulled it down. “Do you have any idea how worried your brother was? Did it even occur to you that maybe you slutting it up impacts other people besides you?”
“Go away….” Sean groaned and pressed his eyes shut.
“No. Hasn’t anyone told you to go take a shower?”
“No.”
“They should have, you smell like a brewery. Get up.”
“No.”
“Get up, strip and get clean. We’ll continue this when I can talk to you and breathe at the same time.”
“I said no.”
“Get up or I’ll get you up.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“I would.”
“Take a hike.”
“Last chance.”
“Bite me.”
“Your choice.” Cain shrugged and picked Sean up from the bed and carried the wriggling man to the small bathroom next to the guestroom. He shoved Sean into the shower stall and opened the faucets.

Sean froze and just stood still in shock.

“What is this, a family tradition? Your brother did the same thing last night!”
“He did? Good. Strip.”
“Leave me alone.”
“Considering the stuff I’ve done to your ass, I think I can bare to see it once again.”
“I can shower alone!” Sean felt like an idiot standing under the water spray in his T-shirt and boxers, but giving up would feel too much like a surrender.
“You’ve made it pretty clear you need supervision, I’m not going.” Cain reached over to peel the T-shirt off. Sean gave up and lifted his hands to get the wet clothing over his head.
“I`m not five. I don’t need a babysitter, and I definitely don’t need you.”
“Obviously you do.” Cain paused for a minute. He gave Sean an unreadable glance and grabbed a sponge from the rack. “Do you realise why people are worried about you? Hotch is worried about you. Chad is worried about you because Hotch is worried about you. I`m worried about you.”
“Yeah, right….”
“Believe what you want.” Cain focused on soaping Sean up.

“He’s scrubbed and tucked in. Last I heard he threatened to lock himself to the guestroom.” Cain leaned against the kitchen counter and took the coffee cup Hotch was offering. “I swear, he sounds just like a fourteen year old girl.”

“Come on, Maris was never that difficult.” Chad commented.
“Did you tell him I want him to stay for the night?” Hotch poured himself some more coffee.
“I did. And I told him that without a ride and without his wallet or cell phone he`s stuck here till we feel safe to release him back into his natural habitat.” Cain smirked. “He was pretty pissed.”

“I’ll try to talk to him again before going to bed. I….” Hotch looked lightly embarrassed. “I only got that one guestroom, but I was thinking you could sleep in Jack’s room. He’s not staying here till next weekend.”
“I don’t think I’ll fit into his bed.”
“I found some mattresses we could put on the floor. I’m really sorry-”
“Don’t worry. I once slept in this tiny bunker when there was a bombing going on. A mattress on a floor is just fine.”

------------------------------------------------

“You awake?” Hotch tried the door handle, but the door wasn’t locked. He pushed it open and walked in.

“Yep.” Sean commented. He was sitting on the bed, with his knees pulled to meet his chin like a sulking teenager. “I’m counting the flowers on the wallpaper. What else can you do in prison.”
“You’re not in prison.”
“You don’t let me leave!”
“You’re free to go. But you wont get very far without your wallet and cell phone.”
“And why the hell is that holier-than-thou creep here again?”
“Who? Cain?”
“Yeah, Cain. Is he living here too? Is your Toy Boy gonna bring his whole family here?”
“Sean-”
“You have any idea what kinda hypocritical sermon he had for me? Trying to guilt trip me, and pretend he’s worried-”
“Sean-”
“Like I can’t even-”
“Sean, shut up.” Hotch gave Sean the glare of Death and he shrunk against the wall. “He was here because I asked Chad to call him. I thought he might get through to you. I have no idea why he agreed to come and listen to your bitching, but obviously he does care. He called off his vacation and drove six hours to get here.”

“Really?” Sean looked surprised. The expression slowly morphed into a tiny hopeful smile.

------------------------------------------------

At two thirty-four in the morning the entire house was quiet. Sean slipped out of his bed and went silently to the hallway. He walked past Hotch`s bedroom and peeked in. Hotch was obviously as heavy sleeper as he had been when they were growing up. He laid on his back, never moved and just snored. Chad had wrapped all his four limbs around him, pressing his head against the crook of the other man’s shoulder.

Sean went to the next door and tried the door handle. It opened easily and a tiny sliver of light wandered to the room, illuminating the man laying on a mattress. Cain was laying on his back, with his right arm across his bare chest. The play of light and shadow made the muscles of his upper body even more pronounced than usually. Sean’s eyes wandered down his belly to his red and white boxers. Sean almost started laughing when he realised what the red patters were. Red hearts on white background.

Sean sneaked in and closed the door. He got down on the matters and shimmied carefully closer to Cain till he was pressing against the other man.  He got into a comfortable position, letting his palm rest one Cain’s belly. He sighed contentedly and closed his eyes.
