Reid didn’t say anything on the way back from the sanitarium. They walked into their hotel room and Reid slumped down on the bed.
“That went pretty well.” Morgan commented and lay down next to him.
“I guess.”
“If my job is the biggest concern she had about this, it was a success.”
“What do you mean?”
“There’s a lot of stuff she could have mentioned.”
“Like what?”
“Like my past record with relationships. You said you wrote her about everything.”
“Not in details.” Reid chuckled.
“Why not? I always told you about them.” Morgan joined the laughter.
“Because I was sure you were exaggerating.”
“I was always honest.”
“Really?”
“Well…. almost. And then there’s the age difference.”
“You’re not that old.”
“Older than you.”
“You’re not that old and I’m not that young.”
“And the black and white issue.”
“My mom’s not like that.”
“I know, I’m just saying it could have been a lot worse.”
“Yeah.” Reid let out a deep sigh. “You want to go get something to eat?”
“Not really. We could stay here and order something from the room service.”
“That’s tempting.” The genius reached for the remote and snapped the TV on.
“What do you want?” Morgan took the phone.
“I don’t know, something filling. I couldn’t eat anything before going to that place.”
“Okay.”
Morgan rattled their order to the phone and hung up.
“Is there anything good on?”
“Reruns, reality shows and game shows.”
“Great.”
“Which one?”
“Well, I’m not watching any game shows with you again. You get too into that.”
“I don’t!”
“You do! And you got that How-Can-Anyone-Be-So-Stupid look on your face when they give a wrong answer.”
“I don’t do that.”
“You do.”
“Do I need to remind how you were when they aired the finale of Desperate Housewives?”
“I just wanted to hear what they said.”
“You said, and I quote: One more word and I’ll tape your mouth shut.”
“I said it with a lot of love.”
“Even Clooney was scared of you.”
“It was a good episode.”
“Good episode of a fictitious show about fictitious characters.”
“Fine, it got little out of hand. Happy?”
“When the food comes, yes.” Reid snapped the remote. “Silence of the Lambs?”
“You wanna watch a movie about feds trying to find a serial killer?” Morgan grinned. “Admit it. You just want to point out the errors.”
“Maybe.” Reid grinned. “And it’s not even that close to reality, the portrayal of Buffalo Bill-”
“You’re doing it again…..”
“Sorry, but have you ever had an unsub who would like to butter your face?”
“I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that.” Morgan grabbed the remote and switched the channel. “What the hell…..?”
“That’s Sound of Music.” Reid recognised. “Have you seen it?”
“No. Why is there a bunch of kids singing in the mountains?”
“It’s about the von Trapp family and their escape from Austria during the Nazi reign.”
“Sounds really depressing.”
“It’s not. It’s a feel-good movie.”
“About Nazies?”
“There’s a happy ending!”
“You wanna watch this?”
“Yeah, I could use some cheering up.”
“And I’m not good enough for that?” Morgan tried to look hurt.
“Morgan….” Reid chuckled. “How bout we eat and watch the movie, and you’ll cheer me up after that?”
“Okay.” Morgan grinned and turned back to watch the TV screen. “Don’t they ever stop singing?”
