not really here
You know the feeling like you shouldn't really be awake? It's not a lack of sleep, though often associated with a hang over (come on body - I had two drinks over 6 hours, why do I feel weak and wonky?) and dark grey weather. I am glad I did get up and go to a talk this morning because I learned some cool stuff, but now I want to day to pass quickly so I can wake up again feeling refreshed, conscious and productive.
In Other news, I've been attending panels of the Pop and Policy conference that has been going on at McGill in connection with Pop Montreal. I've learned about copyright battles, creative commons systems, sampling politics, politics in rock and roll, the future of internet music distribution and recommendation engines. It's been super interesting, and I have been sad at how few of my peer students have been comming to these very important discussions. At lot of the talkers have been top knotch lawyers, researchers, artists and entrepeneurs and their ideas have been way cool. Maybe one day, when I feel articulate, I'll tell more of these talks, but for now, I think I will go bake and wait for my brain to remmerge for my cranial mush.
