A Wedding!
Percy is, admittedly, rather nervous--but that is beside the point, certainly beside the point; to-day his ruffly red hair is combed down neatly and he's wearing his best clothes, a white linen tunic and trousers that are usually only for high holy days, but this is as important as any of those--important. He's waiting near the house, which has been decorated with white garlands of flowers, nothing ostentatious--just enough to show that something special is happening here. He has a little ring twisted out of reeds and a hawthorn twig, and he's turning it in his hand.
Presumably the bride, the official, and the few wedding guests are also here. It may also be noted that there's a wedding supper laid out at the long table in the house for after the brief ceremony, and that it includes a bottle of wine and a small loaf of honey-bread for a communion--the one religious gesture invited.
Edit: Since the wedding ceremony has already taken place, and to make this more convenient for everyone's respective schedules/timezones, we don't have to follow a main thread; guests can post new comments and such, so there are lots of threads going. It'll probably be easier that way. ^__^
