I'm way too busy for a real update, so I'm just jotting down a quick happy thought before I forget it, since my memory retention is somewhere to the left of a sedated sewer rat's... At any rate, my happy thoughts have been few and far between recently, so every little bit helps. Anyway...
Last night we had an early Thanksgiving dinner, because my grandmother will be in Florida for the real one. Also, my family loves to eat. A lot. My sister decided to grace us with her presence, so my mother whipped out the sparkling cider. She didn't offer anyone wine before the heifer showed up, but apparently being pregnant out of wedlock (and in debt) is cause for celebration... But the cider was poured, and my grandmother twittered some nonsense about toasting. Which made me remember my happy thought...
As soon as the "let's make a toast!" comment was made, I heard the following dialog in my head:
Girl 1: Okay, you guys, what should we drink to?
Girl 2: Uh... to your family.
Girl 3: My family. Dysfunctional, judgmental, intolerant, oppressive, petty and small.
Guy: Yes, but... we get everything when they die.
I don't remember what it's from. Anyone? Oh well. It made me happy. I mean, my family can't have that much longer to live, can they? And, sad though it may be, accidents occasionally happen. Oh, and on a completely unrelated note... I took a message earlier from the bank. It seems my parents just paid off their mortgage. Isn't it... odd that they didn't mention it to me?
Well, I'm off to work on my MacGeo paper (and my innocent expression). Mwah-ha...uh. *coughs* I mean, Why!?! Why me? Why!?! (I dunno... is that just too post knee-bash Kerrigan for believability?)
