sacramento, ahoy! i'm beginning to feel like i live here. driving through downtown i can point out coffee shops, breakfast cafes and apartments i have associations with. here: age eleven, tennis shoes on the wooden walkways of old town, white paper bag holding rubber stamps and art supplies. here: age twenty two, eating omelets on a gingham tablecloth, running through the rain to buy tiny yellow teacups at an antique store down the street. here: tipsy outside a hotel, calling wrong numbers. here: swaying sticky inside a bar to 80s classics. etc.
today i think i will hang out with ryan price. tomorrow john fuller is driving up and i am very excited. x-tra excited. uber excited, if you will.
tuesday j and i buried gustav in the back garden, left of the nasturtium. tuesday j turned 23 and i found out what an "irish car bomb" is.
my mother seems okay. i sleep next to her at night and she rattles. it's nice to wake up and have so much present.
