One road to freedom

There he stood, with a decision on his mind. Good versus bad constantly ringing in his ear. Neither angel resides on this young man’s shoulders. He struggles to find himself. Most people struggle to do what is right. Well, there is right and there is left. Some people are completely content with staying in the middle of our society. The French staged an entire revolution because there was no middle, and here he is being pushed towards the top. Some people need a push; this push can spur them and allow them to glide into the space that fits them most. Some people are pushed towards a space that won’t fit them, so instead of gliding they simply topple over. But, he had a decision to make.
The left road had just as many turns and was just as narrow as the road on his right. Which road was indeed right was what he struggled with. Many of his peers have taken either road. Neither road is infinite. There are finishers at both ends of his race. The tracks are often taken at different speeds. The left side is full of people driving fast and enjoying the ride. People on the right seem to drive slower with little enjoyment. Its not that these people are slow, they are trying as hard as they can, their cars just don’t go as fast. Imagine people on the left driving an extremely fast car with bad gas mileage and the people on the left with a very slow economy style car. Either car has its advantages just as either side has its disadvantages. Thus this boy had a rather difficult decision to make.
He knew which way was right, but he didn’t know which way would be best. He needed to find himself. He saw himself in a different light then he saw either road taking him. He saw that the end of these roads were quite the same, he just needed a way to occupy himself while on his way to the end. People that were also searching for a road to travel had their own ideas about what was to happen at the end, some people had beliefs, but no one knew because no one had been to the end. All the people around him speak of the end while standing in the middle. He thought that though they all had a decision to make, he was the only one making a decision the other ones were just following decisions.
Instead of following a road, he followed himself. Roads are paved because so many people follow them. Some people need to follow these roads because they don’t know where they are going. He didn’t know either. He still hadn’t found himself. He still didn’t have the answers people look for. What he had was a decision to make, and he decided not to follow anyone.
