(no subject)
today was so, so fun. woke up to my brother making breakfast at 7 a.m., drove me nuts, then went back to bed for a bit. got up and got done.
later in the day:
+got my graduation and prom dresses, in record time, at the same store, and for $200 total with both. I really am uncomfortable with spending that much, it's a new experience and i think it's kind of...yeh, dumb.
+ protested outside of KFC in Hicksville with Gina and Bobby. It was pretty productive. several people pulled over and asked questions, lots of reassuring honks, some stupid comments here and there, but mostly reassuring honks. we weren't kicked off the sidewalk, we met the leader, Bobby, who was hilarious and kept doing these weird things to keep us on our toes and focused.
+ Alex, Andrew, and Dylan came to the protest, held the signs and just generally were fun to have around.
+after the protest, we headed over to Whole Foods, got a delicious ginger cookie.
+went to green melody and got watermelon juice that had watermelon rind carving around the rim. nice! it tasted like a fruit milkshake, it was so cool. i was flat broke, that kid dylan drank 8 glasses of tea with all the sugar in the holder, and i only got sweet potato fries, but was content.
+gina stole their hats while they weren't looking, so we had them getting worked up over something they didn't even know about, and then completely dropping hints and having them go 'over their heads'.
+whole foods excursion 2.0: resurrection of the rice dream carob-dipped vanilla bar. it was cute because the entire time,everyone, not just including gina and i were either really glad or enthusiastic about having eaten only vegan for a few hours.
Why does green melody use splenda and domino sugar? it doesn't seem to make any sense to me. anyway...
+came back home and celebrated my stepdad's birthday by giving him some gifts that he now HAS to use(thank god we got him a giftcard, he rarely likes his presents enough to use them.) and by singing happy birthday. pretty standard fare.
still have college applications, scholarships, and maybe some more recommendations to get out of the way. i'm a late bloomer.
lately, i've been getting into older hiphop and r&b from when i was younger, nice stuff.
