so Christmas without Craig was okay.
work was actually kind of busy this morning! instead of answering 4 calls like I did last year, I answered 62.
I ended up around at my parents' house just after 12, Kirsten, Adrian, their kids, Freda, Cushla (SO pregnant) and Elwyn were already there. We all hung out and had snacky food and exchanged presents and ate and drank and ate until it descended into a slightly drunk, slightly grumpy and very surreal discussion about the ozone layer and eugenics and the kyoto protocol, and then by 4:30 they were all gone.
By that point I was dead tired, slightly hung over (I hate midday hangovers) and getting grumpy so I stole away to the gues bedroom (formerly Jayne's room - she has my old room) to sleep and read Harry Potter for an hour.
After that I had a coffee and talked to Jayne and Craig called me.
He said all the missing me stuff and was so excited about the toolbox from his parents, and told me how they got us a travel trivia game! I LOVE trivia!
I made up insane desserts and we had a dinner involving very punny jokes, I was on a winning streak and had guessed 5 in a row until I think the next lot of drinking kicked in and I lost it.
Finally we ended up giving out my presents (both for and from me). My Dad LOVED his book, Charlotte loved her movie, Jayne loved her bag, and Mum loved her plate and book.
I ended up with a book called Europe on a Shoestring (which I had asked for), Cabaret on DVD, a pink blank note book and unicorn stickers (from jayne), shiny bubbly green beads, black sticky earrings, and the best thing of all ....
Charlotte and I bought each other the same necklace.
The. Exact. Same. Necklace.
it's a rip off version of this one from urban that I've had for years but I can't wear because it must be nickel coated or something
it was crazy.
luckily we both love the necklace, in fact Charlotte was considering keeping the one she got me for herself.
My parents decided they just had to try grappa. it was disgusting.
and I got a lift home about 9:30.
It was a nice christmas. It would have been better if Craig was there ... but I coped.
