We had huge, huge thunder storms yesterday. Lightning streaked across the sky for a lot of the afternoon. Whilst we were watching the storm, standing on our doorstep, a streak of lightning cracked just behind the houses opposite, it gave us such a scare!
When the rain and storm subsided it was still grey, but by the early evening the sun had come out a bit and the breeze was warm and sweet. Next door has lots of lavender growing in their front garden and Himself and I stood on the step enjoying the wafts of lavender scent that would occassionally pass over us It was really nice.
We put Isaac to bed and then we went outside to clip the hedge at the front of the house. It was lovely to be outside, we had Isaac's monitor just inside the front door so we could still hear him and we enjoyed a lovely evening talking to passing neighbours and giving a haircut to a very overgrown hedge! Now and then neighbours would come and look at how well we were doing and it was a bit of a laugh as we'd never trimmed a hedge before and we were trying to keep it straight!
It took about two hours in all and when we finished we were really pleased with ourselves. People in our street looked out of their windows and gave us the thumbs up at our good job and we laughed with them about it.
Once we'd cleared up the mess, I suggested to Himself that we walk up the road for a bit and admire our work and look at other people's hedges to see if our job was better than theirs
Himself agreed and so we strolled up the road hand in hand enjoying the evening air. I kept thinking how nice it was to be strolling up the road, enjoying the night air and I wondered why we hadn't done it in such a long while...
...that was until Himself suddenly remember we had a baby! OMG we forgot! We had left the monitor by the front door and just closed the front door and strolled up the road!
Heck, we might have even gone further afield if Himself hadn't suddenly remembered Isaac! We were so taken with the beauty of the evening
We walked hastily back up the street wondering if any of the neighbours had noticed that we were out walking WITHOUT OUR BABY!
