Grade curves, the dawnfall of knowledge
I think that curving grades is making us less intelligent as a species. I see it this way, we used to strive to make 100% on a test but now we just try to be slightly on the A side of the curve. We don't want to be good, we just want to be better than 90% of the class so we get the A. How long do we expect today's generation to try hard when they know that all they have to do to pass is do better than the 60% of the class that is either stoned on illegal drugs or having their minds addled with ADD medications.
