Hello 2013!
I have this awful habit of...not ever updating my LJ. I notice this most keenly when I have a sudden upsurge in spam to my account. I f-locked it a while back because of this and then unlocked when I posted some things that were meant to be seen by more than just my friends...then of course, I proceeded to fall back into old habits. Well, its a new year! It is my full intention to, again, attempt to be more active on this site. It is, in fact, my theme for the year. Be Active. That's going to take the form of...well any type of activity that I can think of. This is just one of those variations.
Now, I've realized that one of the big issues I have with journaling of any kind is that I find that I'm not journaling for me, I'm making assumptions on what other people reading my stuff might be interested in and find my personal pursuits...lacking. No more of that. This is going to be about me following my thoughts, my fancies, and anyone interested is welcome to follow along. I will be posting more art this year as well as more writing. And writing about writing, because at the end of the day, that's where my passion still lays.
Speaking of which, I've got some Bangs in the works. Good old Merlin Big Bang. I plan to finish with a bang too. I have a bit of a saga on my hands and I really want to get it taken care of. I know where the story is going, and I know that it wants to finish in three parts. That much being decided, I plan to finish the whole thing for this year's big bang. Two stories. One Bang. That's going to be a HUGE undertaking for me, since I'm a notoriously slow writer, but I'm testing to see if that is the truth, or just something I've convinced myself is true. I'll be finding out over the next several months.
As I've been preping for this cycle, I've looked back on some of my older projects, in particular an old diddy from the Kingdom Hearts fandom I put a LOT of effort into known as "The Boy Who Broke the World." I'm so in love with that story. It's taking all of my concentration to keep focused on my Merlin stuff because KH is calling loud and strong. I'm just glad that the franchise will be around for a bit yet so I know that the fandom will continue having a reason to exist for a while yet. It's my plan to finish that story. Who knows. We'll see how the Emrys Rising Saga goes. If time allows, I might ever poke at BTW a bit more.
I also think I need a work station. I imagine that sitting in my bed with a laptop at odd angles is not the best way to be productive. Anyway I'm aiming for weekly posts. This is the first.
