Australian academics will be aware the latest version of the ERA journals list has just been released. (ERA is the Australian "research excellence" quality monitoring system, equivalent to the UK's REF). Now I've had lots of corridor moans with colleagues about the potential negative impact of the ERA journal ranking on the discipline: early-career researchers ignoring small "disciplinary community" journals to focus on A+ publications, etc. But sometimes it's nice to focus on a positive story. The consultation around ERA has been extensive, and I'm really pleased that I've contributed to the inclusion of two (small, but interesting) scholarly journals in the list: PhotoResearcher, and the Journal of European Comic Arts.
