There are always people (mmm...sketchy people) in front of our house across the street at the bus stop. I like on University and 4th Ave, to give you a little mental picture here. I don't really think most of them are waiting for a bus. Anyway, they do eccentric and very entertaining things often, so we like to sit on the balcony and watch. Tonight's line up included the guy sitting on the curb leaning on the light post, the bald guy on the bench talking to the hairy guy on the bench, and the bigger lady with an unflatteringly tiny backpack. My roommate Charlotte and I were watching like normal, when Charlotte was struck with an unholy desire.
"Um, I think I'm going to scream really loudly and see what they do." Brilliant.
So, we turned off the light and cracked the patio door a few inches. I plugged my ears and lifted a blind, and Charlotte stood right at the door and screamed. Three of the characters looked up towards our door at three different speeds, like the noise reached them in waves. Disinterested, they all turned back to whatever they'd been looking at before. I guess we didn't make quite as impressive a spectacle as we'd hoped.
