So glad to put that week to rest, stressful bitch that it was. The lake is safe, I pulled the enormous amount of money that I owed Amex out of my ass miraculously, and that cold that was my body's way of dealing with both those issues is gone. Glory be.

Gathering my Fall clothes that are too heavy for this pretty spring weather, hauling them to the cleaners, getting everything all spiffy for my plunge into to slushfest that is NYC in February.  Dry clean the coats I only wear there.Shoe doc for all my boots. Can't go to The City looking like a down in the heels
Slim offerings on the music scene up there for that week, sadly. We'll miss Sleater -Kinney at The Mercury Lounge by a day. Not that I'm a fan of theirs really, but I like that place. That was where The Breeders were playing on the night I met the only LJ friend I've ever met. But for some reason I let her talk me into going to see her friends' 80s band.A major regret. This was The Breeders. Kim Deal. Come on.

A bigger regret was meeting
a girl from LJ , however. I had really looked forward to meeting her but she turned out to be a princess. In front of an entire room of really interesting artistic people she debated ad nauseum which shoes to wear for what seemed like an hour. The weren't even my friends and I was still so embarrassed. I just don't believe people should be put through that.Style is important, to an extent, but if you talk about it, it defeats the purpose.

And then the shoes hurt her so we spent all this time finding bandaids and then had to take a car service because she couldn't walk. From Brooklyn.Right back to two blocks from where I was staying in the city. Never occured to her how inconvenient that would be for me, but some people don't ever think outside their own shoes.
